We are a community-based organization, offering hope, education and resources to women with a desire to prevent diabetes and live their best life.
Our desire to help people become a Self-Health Advocate.
We offer comprehensive solutions such as on-line & in-person classes, workshops, group meetings & individual coaching support to anyone with a desire to prevent diabetes and ultimately live their best life.
We've built alliances with individuals, community groups, clinics, doctors, hospitals, and churches to help us prevent diabetes and obliterate obesity.
(We adhere to Federal & State COVID-19 guidelines for all in-person meetings)
DESMA was created for women and girls but many of our programs are geared toward helping anyone who wants maintain wellness in their life.
People of all ethnic backgrounds, philosophies and nationalities

The Community Coordinator is the front line director for establishing our place in the community. She is responsible for building capacity and maintaining a network of community health workers who are trusted sources within their own communities.
The Community Coordinator manages a network of trained Community Liaisons who have a personal understanding of the individuals we serve. She has been able to build trusting relationships with community leaders by strategically placing the right individual within the community and providing resources to recruit, train and support Community Liaisons to serve as a link between our organization, partners and the people we serve.
On a personal note, Phyliss' passion is to help women and girls improve their overall health and well being. She is a dynamic motivational speaker and advocate for women's health, personal growth and wellness for all.
She serves as the Community Coordinator. She is your link to the establishing the programs we offer in your community. Contact her today for an initial assessment.
DESMA offer the Centers for Disease Control National Diabetes Prevention Program, Stop 2 Start Self Management Program and one on one Wellness and Health Coaching to the anyone diagnosed with Pre-diabetes or people who need to embrace a wellness lifestyle!

Your doctor diagnoses you with pre-diabetes, prescribes the medicine; probably Metformin and sometimes you may meet with a Registered Dietician, who tells you what you should and shouldn't eat! Now you're on your way, learning how to live with Diabetes. You don't have to be a Diabetic, we offer you a daily companion to help you through your journey to prevent diabetes and live a life of wellness. Your very own Wellness Coach completes the team.
Individuals partner with us by becoming a Self Health Advocate; Doctors, Clinics, Companies, churches and community organizations build Alliance with us by supporting & giving to the You & I Against Diabetes Foundation.
Self-Health Advocates are individuals who accept responsibility for their health.
We actively pursue a lifetime of developing activities, habits and standards that promote excellence in our health and well-being.
We know our bodies, we cherish our bodies; we take care of our bodies!
